Design Engineer, Hands-on-Interactives
Paragon Creative require an Interactives Design Engineers to join our growing team on a full time permanent basis.
The successful candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and will have several years of tangible experience.
Key skills required are; computer literacy in particular AutoCAD, all aspects of basic joinery such as the use of circular saws and routers, metalwork and welding, operating workshop machinery such as the lathe and mill etc. Plastics and model-making, basic electronics would be a bonus.
In addition to these skills you will need an understanding of the unique pressures and demands involved in building hands-on interactive displays for installation in public museums, to the highest standards of design, craftsmanship and reliability, within tight schedules and on budget.
Excellent communication skills and a creative, innovative approach are essential
Work entails manufacture in York and installation of completed works on site in the UK and abroad.
You will be expected to be able to take a written brief, research and develop concepts, produce prototypes to prove theories, produce working drawings for client-approval, order or manufacture component parts, build test and install the finished item.
