Mark career began in London after studying as a Graphic Information Designer at Falmouth School of Art and Design. In 1991, Mark was taken on as New Media Creative Director for CCC Wadlow producing new media within the corporate environment.
In 1995 Mark moved to DGP to set up a new company specialising in video and film editing with a new media emphasis. Following this, Mark moved into a one year contract with The Edge Picture Company to set up a new media division.

Mark then joined Scenic Route in February 2000 with an aim to develop new markets and new strategies for the company. 
In 2003 Mark was introduced to Pete Holdsworth, a modelmaker with a company called Paragon 3D.  Paragon Creative Ltd was formed. Over the past three years with Marks sales and marketing contacts and Pete’s production ability they have created one of the UK’s leading modelmaking and interactives companies.

Early 2006 Paragon Creative acquired the assets of Scenic Route Ltd to create a truly unique company in the UK. Through the leadership of Mark and his co-directors Peter Holdsworth and Stephen Jackson, Paragon now create models, interactives and scenic & theming works.

Stephen Jackson
Production Director

Stephen has over 25 years experience working in Production Management. He has worked in the Museums and Heritage Industry since 1988 when he joined Heritage Projects.
Stephen moved to York to manage the production workshop facility of Heritage Projects and found his niche running a busy creative facility working with artists and craftspeople to create interesting and fascinating projects both at home and abroad.

He was a founder Director of Scenic Route and for 14 years built on his experience to create a very successful business and complete many hundreds of projects of all sizes worldwide.
Stephen graduated from the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in 1975 after gaining a Diploma in Stage Management and Technical Theatre Studies and developed his career in production management during 13 years of senior positions in repertory theatres in Scotland. His most fulfilling time was while he was Production Manager of the Pitlochry Festival Theatre during the planning, building and opening of the new theatre there in 1981.

Peter Holdsworth
Managing  Director

Pete has over 18 years experience in the field of hands on interactives, models and themed environments, 15 of which have been spent at the helm of his own company.
Pete studied 3D Design at York College of Art before going on to Sunderland University where he specialised in 3D & Visual Information Design.

On completing his formal education in 1990, Pete gained invaluable experience working for a number of highly regarded creative companies in London, including The Wurr Company, Hensons Creature Shop and Synapse.

On his return to York, Pete saw the opportunity of providing creative build services to the architectural, museum and attraction based industries north of Watford, and formed Paragon 3D. Through a close association with Scenic Route, Pete met Mark Pyrah and with their combined project management, production expertise and sales and marketing experience, formed Paragon Creative Ltd. Paragon now service a worldwide industry including museums, theme parks, visitor attractions and heritage sites.

Colin Pyrah
Special Project Director

Colin has been deeply involved in the museum and the heritage and leisure industry since 1984. After studying at the University of the Arts - London College of Communication, he was Managing Director of The Yorkshire Newspaper Group and established The Yorkshire Communications Group which provided a wide range of media services including PR, film production, print, commercial photography, graphic and exhibition design, and event organisation. His company won the contract to design and build the Jorvik Viking Centre in York, following which he joined Heritage Projects in York as Projects Director.

Over a period of 7 years Heritage Projects designed and built over 30 major projects, and created their own technical and scenic workshop facility. This facility was then acquired as a result of an MBO, and Colin became Managing Director of this facility which was renamed Scenic Route. In 2003 Scenic Route was acquired by Paragon Creative Ltd and Colin's role as Special Projects Director has seen his completion of over 40 projects.

Colin is without doubt one of the Fathers of our industry today and one of the most experienced producers of attractions in his field.
