Following on from the success of the new attraction, The Lost Cellars that Paragon designed and build at Alnwick Castle last year, Alnwick Castle were looking to create a Medieval Knights Quest attraction for this year’s season. The site for the Knights Quest arena within the castle was the former Old Riding School, and the client wanted it to be transformed into a colourful, bustling medieval marketplace where visitors are invited to step back in time to meet travelling players, knights, ladies, squires and artisans who have gathered to celebrate the homecoming of Harry Hotspur, son of the 1st Earl of Northumberland and one of England’s most renowned medieval knights.
Paragon Creative was appointed to design and build all the elements within Knights Quest including the magnificent Great Hall, created from Polystyrene, cementation plaster and wire mesh. It is hand carved and painted to look and feel like stone and is the perfect place for storytelling, school workshops and photo opportunities.
Other elements included the arena and all the props and interactive elements that are located within it.
