In 2015 we were approached by Katapult Design in Derby to help them refresh two branded retail outlets within the Thomas World experience at Drayton Manor Theme Park.
Our remit was to work on both the main retail space and Sir Tophams; which is a smaller unit where the design team cleverly developed space saving opportunities and optimised all available merchandising areas.
During the project we worked closely with Katapult to develop the designs into reality and bring the Thomas the Tank Engine shop to life. We introduced themed pay points, a trompe l'oeil effect tunnel, interactive signals, bespoke lighting features, individual freestanding merchandise stands, a play tunnel and themed shelving stands.
The display units we built had to be robust and easy to maintain as well as being aesthetically pleasing and within the Thomas brand guidelines.
